The downside is that it will take both time and money. It will cost a minimum of $150 and you’ll be without your game for at least 6 to 12 weeks. When you get your console back it’ll be reformatted Đ so anything you had saved will be gone. Plus there is no guarantee that the original problem won’t recur.

Figure on around 6 weeks of turnaround time, and a cost of $60-140 if you use a non-Sony professional. It’s cheaper and quicker. You may, however, get the console back with a formatted hard drive.
3. Repair it Yourself. Believe it or not, this is probably your best option. It’s very inexpensive, actually less risky, and anyone can do it even if they aren’t handy. There are result-oriented instruction guides and videos available that can walk you right through the fix.
If you use a video, it is very simple. Just watch and follow along, doing the steps as instructed. If you do, you’ll get good results and your console will be fixed.
